Member Spotlight: Zachary Coughlin
This week’s spotlight features EMT, Zachary Coughlin. Zach is one of our newest recruits to join Rittman Fire in 2022. Before joining Rittman, he was involved in the Wadsworth Fire Department Explorer program. Zach plans on continuing his education and pursuing his paramedic certification in the future.
Prior to Rittman, Zach worked off campus security for Kent State, and currently is in the Ohio Army National Guard as military police.
Zach grew up in Wadsworth and played baseball until his freshman year of high school when he traded his baseball bat in for marching band drumsticks. He has 2 beagles named MJ and Bandit, and enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking and working out.
Zach states his favorite part about being a member of the department is being a part of something greater than himself, and giving back to the community. One of his favorite experiences thus far was spending time with the elementary students during their lunch period. He states “it’s important to come into this field very open minded. Ask questions, learn something new every shift, and make an impact on someone’s life.”
Zach and his team members pride themselves on the quality of care they provide for their patients. Join them at Rittman Fire and Rescue!
