**NOTICE OF FRAUD**

Just got notice from a resident concerning a flyer they were sent in the mail from a company in Kansas soliciting donations for Fallen Firefighters specifically for Rittman Fire Department.

WE DO NOT SOLICIT DONATIONS VIA MAIL or PHONE!

We had this happen a few years ago and the company will follow up with a phone call asking for the donation. They are quite persuasive and assure the resident this money goes back to the local fire department. This is simply not true.

PLEASE do not give money to OUT OF STATE companies claiming to be collecting donations for the LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT. We will post something on social media or make some approval announcement if we were to support a donation drive. Please check with us first if you have any questions or concerns.

In addition, please call us if you have a flyer or have received a phone call, we would like to follow up with these individuals.

We have accounts at the Greater Wayne County Federal Credit Union and they will accept any donations you would like to provide HOWEVER rest assured, we will not solicit donations via MAIL or PHONE CALLS.
